Why Are There No Ads on This Site?

Why are there no ads on this site, or in any of my apps?
Because I dislike ads.
Doesn't this site cost money?
Yes.
So why not use ads to pay for it?
See question 1. I'd rather pay out of pocket than use ads.
But you need ads or much of the Web would go away.
As someone who saw the Web when it was first invented, I would consider that a good thing.
But sites I love need ads.
That's fine for you. I don't object to anyone using ads, and I know how that market works. Enjoy.
You use sites with ads, don't you?
I block them. I time-shift ad-supported television so I don't have to see ads. I cut ads out of my life.
What about a site that won't let you in unless you subscribe?
If I see value, I subscribe. If I don't, I never return to that site again.
You would rather walk away rather than see ads?
Yes.
But you would miss out on that site!
Correct.
But I have seen you advertise for this site or your books.
Most people don't object to ads on their sites, so if I place an ad there I am putting it in front of people willing to see ads.
So it's just you who won't put up with ads?
Right.
Even if it costs you time and money?
See my book, Living the Principled Life.
Was that an ad?
Kinda ;)
